AIRCRAFT PAINTING FORUM
Let us know about your aircraft painting experiences so we can let others know! Which shop do you recommend? Which would you not recommend and why? How much did it cost to get your plane painted? Was the final bill in line with the estimate, or were there alot of add-on charges you didn't expect? Your comments will be posted, if appropriate to this site, but not your name unless you request we do so.
AIRCRAFT PAINTING SHOPS
B.J. - Martinsburg WV - I heard that Hagerstown Aircraft Services at KHGR lost their lead painter. They used to do really good paint jobs but I hear that the work is not what it used to be.
J.M. - Hagerstown MD - That's the word on the field here! I'm hearing really good stuff about the other shop here though.... saw two of the planes they painted last week and they're awsome!

R.A. - Indiana PA - Anybody know about Aircraft Refurbishers of Devine, Inc. in Devine Texas? They advertise low prices in Trade-A-Plane (plus the $250 add-on in the fine print for hazardous waste disposal) but I can't get anyone to answer my calls. I left messages with no luck. I have a PA-28-181 to paint.... anybody know what the final cost should be?

AIRCRAFT PAINTS
S.J. - Detroit MI - I'm finishing up my RV-7 and it's ready for paint. Interested in hearing about what paint I should use.
M.K. - San Jose CA - Can't go wrong with either Jet-Glow or Imron, but make sure you get the right accelerator and catalyst - talk to the paint distributor and get their recommendations..... the accelerators change based on the temperature when you paint.
